Nyasa Big Bullets have announced the suspension of club accountant Jeremiah Mwagomba for alleged involvement in attempted fraud and theft of gate revenue at the weekend.
Bullets were facing Mighty Waka Waka Tigers in the Super League when club officials were alerted of attempted theft of a significant chunk of gate collections.
According to a statement released by Bullets, Gate Management firm called Glory – who were manning the gates on the said day – revealed that club Accountant, Jeremiah Mwagomba, instructed through a telephone conversation – the Managing Director of Glory Gate Management Company, Gerald Mussa to under declare gate revenue.
“Following the awkward instruction, the gate management firm official alerted other match day stakeholders including Nyasa Big Bullets senior official – Mr. Kelvin Moyo, SULOM (Mr. Mavuto Chiwambo) and facility managers who averted and thwarted the intended fraud and theft,” a Bullets statement said.
Bullets Chief Executive Officer, Suzgo Nyirenda has said the club has now taken a decision to suspend Mwagomba over the incident and has reported the matter to Malawi Police for further action.
