Capital City Super League giants, Silver Strikers have named midfielder Chikondi Kamanga as the team captain for the 2023 season.

Silver needed to have a new skipper following the departure of both their captain, Mike Robert and his deputy, Chawanangwa Kaonga.

Robert left the club and joined Kamuzu Barracks while Kaonga joined Zambia premier league side ZANACO.

The club's new Dutch head coach Pieter De Jongh has been impressed with the leadership skills as well as the performance of Kamanga hence the decision to hand the captaincy to the former Wanderers midfielder.

Kamanga signed for Silver in 2020 on an initial three year cotract but had his contract extended for a further three years in January this year.
