Salima Sugar, sponsors of last season’s super league surprise package Dedza Dynamos are hoping for a long romance with the team after being impressed with its performances
Dynamos have proven to be a thorn in the flesh of top teams with some supporters christening them 'Mbola'.
Salima Sugar Corporate and Administrative Manager, Charles Thupi said in an interview yesterday that they are in a happy marriage with dynamos.
According to Thupi their decision to extend sponsorship for the second year running is proof the company is satisfied with how things went in the first year.
Thupi was speaking in an interview when The Champion enquired about the nitty gritties of the sponsorship and if the company is getting just rewards for its investment.
"We have always been happy with our association with Dedza (but) as for how long we will be together it will depend on how things pan out from now to the end of the season," said Thupi.
Asked if they had set targets for the team, Thupi only said "a few” but refused to be drawn into disclosing them.
"You know in football money is a motivating factor. If you give players game bonuses, training allowances and signing on fees players are easily motivated," he added.
Last week Dedza lost 3 goals to nil against Mafco at the soldiers’ backyard in a pre-season friendly match.
The team recently roped in Gilbert Agidze Chirwa as their mentor as replacement for former MDC striker Dan Dzinkambani.
