Player movement continues as teams prepare for the new season with significant transfer news at Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, Kamuzu Barracks and Nyasa Big Bullets.

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers who ended last season on a high with victory in the finals of the prestigious Airtel Top 8 against arch rivals Nyasa Big Bullets, but had a less than impressive league campaign in which they finished fourth have been very active in the transfer market.

The Nomads have added Flames international defender Lawrence Chaziya to their squad, bringing to four the number of new signings following the arrivals of Christopher Kumwembe, Emmanuel Nyirenda, Dalitso Khungwa and Gaddie Chirwa.

Chaziya joins the club following the expiry of his ten months contract with Jordanian club, Hussein.

In the Capital, Lilongwe, Kamuzu Barracks who finished third in the league last season have also been making changes to their squad.

Following a process of internal player assessment, a decision has been made to part ways with three players namely defenders Mustafa Maulana and Blessings Chimbaza as well as Temwa Msowoya.

Club General Secretary for the club Christopher Njeula said releasing the three players will allow the club to look for new talent to come in.

Meanwhile, Super League defending champions, Nyasa Big Bullets have parted ways with influential midfielder, Chimwemwe Idana after failing to agree terms for a new deal with the player.

The Malawi national football team international opened negotiations with the people's team as his contract expires on 21 February 2023 but it is reported that the midfielder maestro was demanding 8 million kwacha as signing on fee and k700 thousand monthly salary which is more than what the club was willing to offer.

Idana joined Bullets in 2017 through the reserve side before earning promotion to the main team in the 2018/19 season.

During his stay at the club, Idana won two Charity Shields, four TNM Super League titles, the Airtel Top 8 Cup and the FDH Bank Cup and was named Player of the Season in the 2020/21 season where he won a Mazda Demio.
