Malawi’s representative in the 2022 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League, Nyasa Big Bullets, will face Tanzania giants Simba SC in the preliminary round following a draw held in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday.

This means Flames attacker Peter Banda will face his former side when the two teams meet in the continental show piece.

The two sides will play the first leg match on the weekend of 9 to 11 September in Malawi  before playing a return leg match between the weekend of 16 to 18 September in Tanzania.

The winner between the two teams will play Zambia's Red Arrows or Angola's Premiro Agosto in the second qualifying round on the weekend of 7 to 9 October, with the second legs being played from 14 to 16 October, 2022.

Last year, Bullets were eliminated from the tournament in the preliminary first round having lost 3-2 on aggregate against South African side Amazulu.
