Malawi national team star Charles Petro will now be playing club football in Romania, the country where current Flames coach, Mario Marinica comes from.
Petro has signed for Romanian Liga I side FC Botoșani on a free transfer after leaving Tisapol Sheriff FC of Moldova.
FC Botoșani announced the Malawian defender who can also play in midfield was one of the players signed in the current European transfer window which opened on Jan 1.
FC Botoșani plays in the top flight league in Romania. The team is yet to win the country’s championship but last season it finished in position four.
The former Nyasa Big Bullets star will be hoping to make his debut next Sunday when his new club plays a friendly against Polish side Zagłębie Lubin.
