Malawi national football team head coach Mario Mariani Marinica has called into camp Nyasa Big Bullets midfielder Patrick Mwaungulu as the team prepares for the Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) tournament.

The Flames tactician released a provisional squad comprising 30 players last week but the name of the creative midfielder was not one of them.

But following a good run of form the Bullets man has now been given a chance to try his luck with the national side.

Mwaungulu, nicknamed CR7 has been the centre of creativity in midfield for Bullets and scored a goal and created two more last weekend as Nyasa Big Bullets defeated Waka Waka Tigers in a TNM Super League match.

Marinica has included a number of youngsters in the Flames squad, including Clever Mkungula and Blessings Mpokela as the team prepares for the COSAFA tournament to be played in South Africa from 5-17 July.
