The Malawi under 20 national football team has been drawn in group C of the 2023 Under 20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers to be played in Eswatini next month.
At a draw held on Friday, the junior Flames have been placed in group C alongside Namibia, South Africa and Comoros as they look to make history to qualify to the tournament for the second time having reached the group stages in 1999.
The qualifiers to the finals of the junior AFCON tournament will see Zambia, Botswana, Eswatini and Mauritius start the hunt for a qualifying slot in group A.
Mozambique which was at the last edition of the tournament in 2021 has been drawn in group B alongside Angola, Seychelles and Lesotho.
All the 12 countries from the Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) tournament will battle for the 2 slots available at the tournament to be played in Egypt.
