Mighty Mukuru Wanderers continue to be busy on the transfer market ahead of the 2023 season with former Waka Waka Tigers defender Emmanuel Nyirenda being their newest recruit.
Nyirenda who can play as a central defender or left full back has signed a three years deal with the Lali Lubani side which will see him at the club until 2026.
The Kanjedza based side spotted Nyirenda while playing for Sanweka in the under 20 league in Mzuzu in 2017 before loaning him to FOMO the following year where he played in the Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) league.
In 2019, the versatile defender was called back to Tigers where he became a key cog of the side that finished in position 12 last season which was a massive improvement for a team that was threatened with relegation the season before.
Such was the regard the team had for Nyirenda that he was named team captain for the side.
Nyirenda joins a list of new players such as strikers Gaddie Chirwa and Christopher Kumwembe and midfielder Mphatso Kamanga that have signed for Wanderers ahead of the new season.
